Wednesday evenings: How to Become the Person You’d Like to be

Wednesday evenings: How to Become the Person You’d Like to be

August 15 to December 19

7:00 to 8:30 pm

If you’re looking for a simple to practise, easy to understand road map to guide you through your daily life, it’s hard to find one that’s more helpful and complete than Advice from Atisha’s Heart. Although this advice was given 1000 years ago by the great Indian Buddhist scholar, Atisha (AD 982-1054), it is still astonishingly applicable to our daily concerns; it speaks to our wish to develop ourselves to higher states of being and to find greater meaning in our lives.

All of Atisha’s message was motivated by a wish to share deep personal experience of how to be happy and live a meaningful life. This advice gives practical guidelines which can help us with all our daily issues, from detailed help relating to how to choose good friends and how to know which activities will make the best use of our time, to overreaching issues such as what are the most valuable goals to have in life.

In short, the nineteen classes in this series will cover all of the essential advice you need to guide you towards becoming the person you know you can be.

Attend one or a few of the classes, or the entire series; each class is self-contained and includes guided meditations, practical advice and time for discussion.
