The Power of Love

The Power of Love

Weekend Away Retreat

Friday, May 1 – Sunday, May 3 2020
with Resident Teacher Kelsang Chöyang

at Manoir de la Forêt, Cantley, Quebec

Everyone wants to be happy and to have good relationships with others, and the best way to fulfil these wishes is to train in loving kindness. We all have some experience of love, but we may not realize how easy it is to cultivate and grow pure love in our hearts through meditation.

During this retreat we will concentrate on developing authentic and powerful love for others by training in three kinds of love: affectionate love, cherishing love, and wishing love. Over the course of the weekend, you can discover an inexhaustible fountain of happiness within your own heart; your love for others. Then you can return home with new methods to solve your daily problems, improve your relationships and easily make progress on the spiritual path.

The retreat begins with an Introduction on Friday evening and ends Sunday after lunch. There will be four, hour-long, meditations on Saturday and two on Sunday which include a brief teaching, as well as prayers to help us set a beneficial motivation. We observe silence on both days till lunchtime; this helps us to stay inwardly focused to bring the experience of the meditation deeper into our hearts.

This retreat is open to both beginners and more experienced meditators.
