Walk for World Peace

Walk for World Peace
Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 9:30 am

Join us this September 29, 2018 for our seventh annual Walk for World Peace outdoors at Fletcher Wildlife Gardens. It will be an enjoyable morning and meaningful opportunity to spend time with your spiritual friends. Our intention is to nurture world peace by making our own minds peaceful through applying Buddha’s teachings. We will explore the beautiful grounds at Fletcher Wildlife Gardens and enjoy a guided meditation. Afterwards, everyone is invited to a brown-bag picnic lunch. Please bring your own lunch and a blanket. A delicious vegan dessert will be provided by Joyful Land.

All proceeds from the walk will go towards the International Temples Project (ITP) an International fund dedicated to public benefit. The ITP was founded by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso with the aim to introduce the Buddhist faith and practice of the New Kadampa Tradition publicly, and to show how individuals and society benefit through the practice of Buddhism in modern day life.

How to participate?

We would like to invite anyone to join us as a participant, or to sponsor one of our walkers for this event. Walkers are encouraged if possible to get their family and friends to sponsor them, thereby contributing to world peace through this meaningful project. If you are unable to walk and would like to enjoy some fun and fellowship, please come by for the meditation and the lunch.
