Maintaining Positive Energy

Buddha taught many methods to help us to remain positive, which in turn helps us to approach life with a peaceful, positive energy. Far from making our lives more agitated, this kind of energy will gradually make our lives more calm, comfortable and meaningful. By listening to and meditating on these teachings, we can begin to adopt this positive energy and make it our own. We can then learn from our own experience how liberating it is, both for ourself and for others.

These classes will present Buddha’s teachings in a way which makes them easy to practise in our busy daily lives. Each class will include experienced guidance in meditation. Everyone is welcome.

Class Fee: $12 and for those experiencing financial difficulties at this time: $6

Meditations for a Meaningful Life

These classes introduce us to a series of meditations derived from Buddha’s teachings which can help us to find lasting inner peace and great meaning in our daily lives. If we contemplate and meditate on these teachings, we will find that we’re better able to deal with our daily problems, and find the lasting happiness we’re searching for. Ultimately, these teachings will lead us to develop all of our good qualities, and overcome all of our faults. In short, they will give us a far more meaningful life.

Although the classes are presented as an ongoing series, each class is self-contained. These classes are intermediate in level, but many beginners find them very enjoyable and meaningful.

Upcoming Saturday Classes

A Special Half-Day Meditation Class

Saturday October 31, 10am-12noon

We are so constantly bombarded by outer stimulation that it is difficult to enjoy the peace and stillness within our own mind.  The practice of meditation allows us to go inside for awhile and deliberately cultivate inner peace. This is something we can do within our busy, daily life without a lot of fanfare. A regular practice of meditation is highly effective in reducing stress levels and increasing happiness. If you are curious about the benefits of meditation and wondering if it’s for you, this course is a perfect beginner’s guide.

This class include guided meditations, and will provide you with the basics to begin your own meditation practice at home. Everyone is welcome.

Class Fee: $20 and for those experiencing financial difficulties at this time: $10.00

Saturday classes in October

A Special Half-Day Meditation Class

Saturday, November 14, 10am-12pm

Our inner peace is our most valuable asset. In these times of increasing outer challenges, it is becoming more clear how we need to find a reliable method to stay peaceful and resilient in the midst of circumstances that are beyond our immediate control. Learning to deal with stress and worry, and gaining insight into where true happiness can be found are key. In this half-day class we will learn how to de-stress through meditation, and to counter our negative minds with positive attitudes that bring peace.

This class will teach basic meditation methods, based on Buddha’s teachings. It will also include easy-to-understand guided meditations. These teachings are suitable for beginners, but anyone can benefit from them. Everyone is welcome.

Class Fee: $20 and for those experiencing financial difficulties at this time: $10.00

Meditations to Open Our Heart

A Special Half-Day Meditation Class
Saturday, November 21, 10am-12pm

This class will be taught by our Resident Teacher, Kelsang Chöyang

In this half-day class we will practice two profound meditations called ‘Taking & Giving’. These meditations improve our love and compassion and are very powerful tools for opening the heart and taking the mind off of ourself. When we do this, our problems diminish and we can accept our difficulties with greater ease. We also tap into our true potential, our Buddha nature, by using the power of imagination to take away the suffering of others and give them true happiness.

This class is perfect for those who are new to Buddhism, and also those who are more advanced. It will include practical advice for daily life based on Buddha’s teachings, and experienced guidance in meditation. Everyone is welcome.

Class Fee: $20 and for those experiencing financial difficulties at this time: $10.00
To register Click here.
