FREE TALK
with Buddhist monk & Teacher
at Kadampa Meditation Centre Ottawa
Tuesday August 26
7 to 8:30pm
In a world where stress, anxiety, and uncertainty seem constant, finding peace and clarity can feel out of reach. Using Buddha's ancient wisdom we can discover methods to develop real happiness and inner calm - through learning to control and transform our own mind.
No previous experience of meditation is required, and no special clothing or equipment is required. Everyone is welcome!
The Teacher for this talk will be Gen Kelsang Thekchen, who is a Kadampa Buddhist monk & senior Teacher in the New Kadampa Tradition. He has been a Teacher under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for more than 30 years. Gen Thekchen has taught widely in Canada and in the UK, and is now the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Centre Ottawa. He is well known for his ability to present Buddha's teachings in a practical, profound and often humorous way, making them very accessible and easy to practise in everyday life.
The venue for this talk is Kadampa Meditation Centre Ottawa, located in mid-town Ottawa at 879 Somerset Street West, near the corner of Preston and Somerset Streets.
Free-of-charge parking is available on Somerset Street in the evenings.
Please try to arrive a few minutes early to find parking and get settled before the talk begins.

In the beginning of our practice the most essential thing is to tame our mind, for only this will enable us to benefit all sentient beings.
