Introductory Level Classes

Modern Buddhism:
The Path of Compassion & Wisdom

Wednesday evenings, 7-8:15pm
from October 7 onwards

with Kadampa Teacher Steve Grover

at KMC Ottawa
879 Somerset Street West

Cost: $15 per individual class

Buddha explained that all our problems and suffering arise from confused, negative states of mind, and all our happiness and good fortune arise from peaceful, positive states of mind. He taught methods for gradually overcoming negative states of mind such as anger & jealousy, and methods for developing positive minds such as love, compassion and wisdom. By practising Buddha’s teachings, even in the midst of modern daily life, we can develop lasting inner peace.

Buddha’s teachings work for anyone, in any country, at any age. The Buddhist way of life – peace, loving kindness and wisdom – is just as relevant today as it was when Buddha appeared in ancient India. Once we have gained experience for ourselves, we can pass this experience on to others. In this way, we can help to establish peace in the world.

In these classes, Steve Grover will look at Buddha’s teachings as explained in the book Modern Buddhism ~ The Path of Compassion & Wisdom by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Each class will contain a practical talk and two guided meditations. Everyone is welcome!

Starting on Wednesday Oct 7

Class titles will soon be announced.
