Medicine Buddha

Blessing Empowerment

plus one-day Guided Retreat

with Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Thekchen

Saturday March 1 ~ 10:00am to 4:30pm
& Sunday March 2 ~  9am to 5pm

Empowerments are not available by Livestream. Please come in person & enjoy this precious opportunity with others.

According to Buddha, all disease and suffering, mental and physical, are caused by our negative minds. Normally our negative minds can feel deeply ingrained, but through connecting to Medicine Buddha we can experience the pure nature of our mind, and heal ourselves of these inner diseases. Through healing ourself of mental and physical suffering, we will then be able to help heal others.

This empowerment is a beautiful guided meditation, during which we will receive the blessings of Medicine Buddha, the embodiment of all enlightened healing energy.  During the commentary our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Thekchen, will explain the profound Tantric practice, known as self-generation, through which we awaken our own potential to become an enlightened healing Buddha. The empowerment will take place in the morning, followed by commentary in the afternoon and an opportunity to engage in the practice.

On Sunday there will be a guided Medicine Buddha retreat.

During these turbulent and uncertain times we need to turn to powerful spiritual methods to find protection from mental and physical pain. One of the most powerful practices is making prayers to the 7 Medicine Buddhas.

This practice has been a powerful method of healing for centuries.

“At one time, Buddha Shakyamuni was staying at a place called Vaisaili near Sarnath in India, with 36,000 Bodhisattva disciples. At that time through his compassion, Bodhisattva Manjushri asked Buddha “in the future when your Dharma and general spiritual practice are in decline, when the human beings in this world are spiritually impoverished, when their attachment, anger, and ignorance are so strong and difficult to control that they experience continual physical suffering, mental pain, fears, and dangers, and especially many incurable diseases, who will release them from their suffering and protect them from danger?  Who will help them to overcome the three mental poisons?
In response to Manjushri’s question Buddha expounded the Sutra of the practice of Medicine Buddha and said “in the future, if living beings rely on the Medicine Buddhas, they will be cured of otherwise incurable physical disease and mental pain as well as all other outer and inner diseases “

Join us for a special retreat where we make strong prayers to the Medicine Buddhas on behalf of all living beings who are suffering in this world. Experience the power many people coming together and making prayers to the Medicine Buddhas who themselves made strong prayers to help us at this difficult time.
