A One-day Practical Course, for everyone

The Art of Torma Making Workshop
Saturday April 20
10am - 4pm
With Rose Hirano

Course Fee: $40 | Half Price for Monthly Support Members

Tormas are traditional custom-made food offerings (usually made of marzipan) that are offered to the Buddhas in various ritual practices and prayers such as empowerments, retreats and chanted prayers.  Representing an offering of great bliss, tormas can range from very simple to exquisitely beautiful.

Rose Hirano, the Education Program Coordinator at Kadampa Meditation Centre Canada, will lead this hands-on workshop, teaching this beautiful art. The workshop will be informal, practical and a lot of fun.  It is suitable for everyone, whether you are an experienced practitioner or a complete beginner.  So come join us as we learn about the various types of tormas and how to make them in a qualified manner according to the New Kadampa lineage.  Everybody welcome!

Schedule:

Workshop session 1:  10am-12:00pm
Lunch Break: 12:00 to 2pm
Workshop session 2:  2-4pm

This workshop will be taught by Rose Hirano, who has been studying and practising Buddhism for over twenty years. She is currently the Education Program Coordinator and teacher at Kadampa Meditation Centre Canada. She enjoys her previous roles as managers of gompa, shop and Tharpa Publications.
